The Herb Garden is a seasonal outdoor event space. We operate from June-September each year.

Down to earth, natural, and outdoorsy, but still sophisticated - that's exactly what a rustic wedding should feel like. If you prefer the raw charm of Mother Nature with an air of refinement to the frilly and feminine, the Herb Garden is perfect for you. A rustic wedding is more than barns, mason jars, and sting lights, it's a celebration of homespun comfort and organic beauty.

Facilities and Capacity

The Heritage Barn is the most beautiful structure on the property. Built without nails are screws, about 200 years ago. The Heritage Barn offers an impressive glimpse into Ottawa's unique history. The barn is now used as a picturesque rustic space for weddings and other various events. The barn holds 80 comfortably, but can accommodate around 100 guests.

Services Offered

For a Saturday wedding, you have access to the property from Friday morning until Sunday noon. Available for your use is the Heritage Barn, the Bergamonte Barn, our Bride Loft, Gazebo and Labyrinth. Your ceremony can take place in numerous places on the grounds.

Was absolutely perfect

If it wasn't for this venue, we would have likely cancelled our wedding. It was the most perfect, beautiful venue and was exactly what we were looking for. We only saw one venue, and booked it before we left.
On top of that, the owners are the most amazing people and are perfect for this industry. Katey and Nathan don't just provide you the venue, but provide you the opportunity to make your wedding how you want it. The flexibility of bringing in our own catering, alcohol service, music options, and more made our wedding feel unique and that's what we were looking for. They are there to help and guide you as needed, and are so unbelievably helpful leading up to the event. And then night of, my goodness they were superstars. There is an endless list of compliments that we can give to this venue, but even more so about the amazing owners.
Please, do yourself a favour and just visit this venue if you have any desire for an outdoor barn style wedding. And make sure to meet with Katey and Nathan. And then just take it in before you make a decision. Because I can tell you, this is the right spot for your wedding!

The perfect outdoor venue!

We couldn't have chosen a better venue for our wedding! The new owners, Katey and Nathan, took over the Herb Garden in fall 2017 and have already implemented many beautiful updates and additions to the already picturesque venue. We appreciated having the venue from Friday-Sunday which gave us tons of time to set-up and decorate, as well as bring in all of our own vendors. The venue itself hardly needs any additional decor as it is already has many cute touches, like signage, renovated bathrooms, patios tables and chairs, arbours, greenhouses, wildflowers and lush gardens, tree-lined fields, a stunning Heritage barn complete with string twinkle lights and a bar - a photographer's dream! Ourselves and our guests adored the venue and all that it had to offer. Katey and Nathan are easy to communicate with, extremely kind and helpful and truly helped ensure our day was absolutely perfect!

Our wedding at the herb garden was amazing. The venue is beautiful! We had our wedding on a Sunday and got a great discount on the regular price. We used the Bergamot barn and it was bright and airy for our brunch wedding. I found the heritage barn was dark. Good for an evening reception with lights but not good for daytime. There are new owners for 2018 wedding season so there's not much point on commenting on the overall service, but the location is lovely and exactly what we wanted for our outdoor wedding. Based on that, I recommend.

Beautiful Barn

I got married at the Herb Garden 2 weeks ago and it was perfect. Katey and Nathan, the new owners, went above and beyond to make our day magical. It really is the prefect location for a rustic, DIY wedding!
