Fun and easy to work with

They lost our reservation !
As soon as I got engaged, I searched for vendors and found the Chateau Montebello very appealing. We booked an appointment and visited the rooms and discussed all the details with the coordinator. She then told us that they don't accept reservations and sign contracts more than 1 year ahead of time. We gave all your information and were told to wait. The coordinator would contact us when the reservations were going to be available.
So we agreed to the terms and we were looking forward to being contacted...exempt NO ONE DID!
When I called them up one year later, they bluntly told me that the coordinator that had meat with us never transferred our reservation before leaving for maternity leave ! They simply LOST OUR RESERVATION !
Also, two other weddings were already booked on that same day months prior, NOT RESPECTING THEIR OWN RULE OF THE 1 YEAR PRIOR and they gave us last pick on everything.
A asked for compensation for this error since we had to rethink our wedding plans. They offered merely 300$ off my 20 000$ wedding which is not even 0,02% and kept blaming us for their error.
They treat you like you are nothing and all they want is your money.
Who cares if its your special day !

Beautiful venue... wonderful day
We had a truly magical wedding at the Fairmont Le Château Montebello. It was a pleasure to work with our coordinator, Manon, and Maître D, Justin and their team. Although the weather didn't cooperate, we were given many options to accommodate a change of plans to an indoor ceremony and reception. The food was amazing and was complimented by our guests (even vegetarian options and lactose free options were raved about). We were really well taken care of and were so happy to have held our wedding here!We had a truly magical wedding at the Fairmont Le Château Montebello. Where do I start??
You expect this place to be extra professional and classy. What we got was a chaotic mess, lost possessions and extra charges.
The food, wait staff and venue were great. No complaints there, exactly what you would expect from a resort such as this.
The concierge that we had spent more time hanging out in the kitchen rather than attending to what we needed. We had to tell him four different times that the womans washroom needed toilet paper!! He was pretty much useless.
Our wedding cake was supposed to be served at 10:30pm as a late snack (as stated in contract). They served it right after dinner which had a massive desert table so needless to say nobody wanted cake at that point. To top it off, the leftover cake was simply thrown away without even asking us if we wanted it. $600 cake and hardly anyone had any of it INCLUDING THE BRIDE!!!
We had our bags etc. delivered to our hotel room. Upon arrival we notice items are missing including essential medication. Staff at the hotel was dismissive and were not that helpful. After numerous phone calls and approx. 3 days, the items were found. We were not offered an apology, they did not offer to FEDEX the items to us but instead we had to drive an hour to go pick up the items that they lost.
Next fun surprise was a bill for $100 after the event for items that guests magically charged to our account without our permission. Our contract clearly stated what guests were allowed to have for 'free' and what they had to pay for. The bartender clearly messed up and instead of taking responsibility for their employee they push the bill onto us.
This place is beautiful, has great tasting food and the waitstaff goes above and beyond to make it a memorable evening. However they really drop the ball when it comes to doing what is stated in a contract and aren't coming close to being a 'high end' venue. Honestly, I'm not sure it's worth the money.Where do I start??

Great Service
Fairmont Montebello is an incredible venue to get married. At first, my husband and I had difficulty with our wedding coordinator, however, we requested a change in person and everything was amazing from there! After we switched coordinators, the staff were extremely accommodating and willing to help with everything. Beautiful grounds for photos and the food was spectacular.
