About Crescendo at Big White
Crescendo at Big White is a 5,200 sq ft Luxury SmartHome, specializing in providing a magical destination setting for summer and winter weddings! This home (fortress, really) has Big White and the Monashee Mountains as its backdrop. Boasting picturesque indoor and outdoor spaces, this venue is great for weddings during any season of the year!
Facilities and capacity
The facilities found at Crescendo offer an open layout format and high ceilings (up to 30 ft) for an eye-catching and impressive fortress-like chalet for your wedding celebration. Whether small/intimate or large (up to about 120 guests) weddings at Crescendo are wholly magical, in part due to its having Big White and the Monashee Mountains as its backdrop. Boasting picturesque indoor and outdoor spaces every season of the year, in fact, as a wedding venue, Crescendo is truly incredible.
While they don't offer wedding packages, they do help to tailor the event to the client’s specific needs/wants/wishes, and they refer you to those companies that their previous guests have given their two thumbs up to.
Crescendo's amenities, though, are exceptional, especially for weddings. In their theatre, for example, they provide the means to project from your device (e.g. phone, tablet, computer) to their 110" screen and 7.1 surround sound system. They recommend, in fact, that couples put together a slide presentation to run in the background continuously, featuring select photos of the bride and groom from birth through courtship. Without question, those slideshows have been a sensational hit at the weddings hosted at Crescendo.
Importantly, Crescendo is a destination venue. Outside of ski season, for example, the typical stay is about 3 nights. Six very separate/private areas are created by half-rotations around our striking glass-block spiraled staircase. So, while Crescendo is at first a 3 bedroom 5 bathroom home, their rooms may be configured in various ways so that Crescendo may have up to 6 bedrooms. Crescendo, too, has enough fixed and movable beds to sleep 22 adults (16 separate King, Queen, and Twin beds). Their intention, though, is to comfortably sleep 15 adults.
For your wedding guests, there are many condos and homes available on the mountain and very near (walking distance) from Crescendo. Most of those accommodations have a 2-night minimum.

We chose Big White as our wedding destination based on the vast selection of activities and amenities for our friends and family and great snow. When we looked at venues, there was no doubt in our mind that The Crescendo needed to be the location. We weren't disappointed! We held both the ceremony and party here. The chalet is 5 star all the way, spacious, stunning views and a great location. We are now looking ahead to going back for our 10 year anniversary.
Crescendo at Big White's reply:
Hmmm - Jeff, I know I had responded to your thoughtful review right after you placed it. I'm not sure what happened to that.
Anyway, we still remember your wonderful wedding at Crescendo, which will always remain being very special to us. YOU WERE OUR FIRST!
You'd be shocked to see how much Crescendo’s changed since then. Totally new look inside, but our outside areas have been totally redone: flattened/graded, built-in 38” BBQ (that’s 42 hamburgers), and more. We try to post our changes to our Facebook page (@skiCrescendo), so be sure to "like" us on Facebook for updates. We are discriminating with both the content and frequency of our posts.

Our Perfect Wedding at Crescendo
In September 2017, my husband and I were married at Crescendo. From the moment we began our planning with the owner, we felt supported and encouraged. Mitch has a helpful, flexible, and accommodating staff that takes care of the venue during the bike and ski season. As soon as we stepped foot inside Crescendo, we knew it would be the perfect place to stay during our wedding weekend and to hold our 120 person ceremony and reception. The indoor space gave a unique house party feel to our wedding and due to the magnificent architecture of the chalet, décor was kept to a minimum with floral arrangements, greenery, and “enchanted forest” details. Guests were able to hang out in the theatre room (where we positioned the main bar), in the great room (where staff removed all furniture and we made a dance floor with a DJ set-up), around the beautiful dessert table (dining room), and outside on the covered patio (where we had a band, a cocktail hour bar, and patio seating. I was able to get ready in the master bedroom, which provided a perfect dressing room for the makeup artist, hair stylist, and bridal party to spend the afternoon. The catering company (Details Catering) were familiar with the venue and took advantage of the modern kitchen area to create and serve canapés throughout the venue (we chose not to have a sit down dinner). The outdoor space at Crescendo provided a scenic and ethereal venue for the wedding ceremony. We were able to set out over 100 rented chairs and the event company we hired (Blushing Pear Event Planning and Rentals) created an elegant aisle and arched area for the ceremony to take place. At the end of the weekend, we didn’t want to leave the luxury of this chalet at Big White. Our guests were blown away by the magic of our wedding weekend at Crescendo. If you are interested in getting married at Big White Ski Resort, Crescendo is the place to do it!
Crescendo at Big White's reply:
Melissa, what can I say? You are genuinely beautiful: inside and out. It is no wonder that you, as a bride, were drop dead gorgeous. Michael, too – wow – so handsome. Does he ever stop smiling? As a couple, together, you made the event magical. You, and not Crescendo, deserve all the credit. Thank you, though, for your thoughtful review and your generously kind comments.

What an amazing experience! Nothing like having such a beautiful home as the back drop for our white winter wedding, and then making the most of this perfectly positioned home in the days to follow as our little honeymoon with family and friends on the slopes and in the hot tub! Love it!
Crescendo at Big White's reply:
Thanks so much Claire!
Thanks also for sending some of he pics of your wedding at Crescendo. I remember seeing them earlier, and commenting to you how much I thought you both made such a GREAT looking couple, and how outrageously cute baby Kellen is. Would love some high definition copies of those if you'd like to share them (and when you get a chance). We actually host more weddings outside of ski season than during ski season, so your pics would be a real treat for me to have.
I loved what you shared with me, too, in your email just now, about how you both have "many fabulous memories" about Crescendo, and about how your "friends and family all have a grand vision of a reunion of our wedding one day." Thanks so MUCH, too, about recommending "Crescendo to anyone who asks about our wedding."
I can't tell you how happy I am for you both. Providing a backdrop from which cherishable memories are created is EXACTLY what we aim for.

LOVED Crescendo for our wedding!!!
Crescendo was the perfect place for our wedding, which we held just before Big White opened for its ski season. All of our guests just raved about the beautiful setting and about the spectacular chalet. We had over 80 guests throughout the chalet, with room to have invited a few more.
The ceremony was beautiful in the Grande Room, with the picturesque view of the Monashees in the background. Everything went extremely smoothly thanks to the caretaker.
The caterers were clearly at home with Crescendo's large commercial Kitchen for preparing the food. The Media Room, with its separate bar area, was perfect for serving refreshments, and we were able to stream our personalized slide show to the big screen in that room.
There was ample space for everyone to mingle and dance throughout the night, and oh did we dance! With the ceremony, the reception, and the accommodation all under the same roof, Crescendo was the perfect place to have our all-in-one event.
Crescendo helped us to create the stylish, yet intimate, atmosphere we had wanted, resulting in our special day being even more elegant and beautiful than we had hoped. All of our guests and families just loved Crescendo.
What more can I say? We highly recommend Crescendo for anyone looking for a special and unique setting for a wedding, or for just about any celebration.
We will have fond memories of Crescendo for the rest of our lives.

Crescendo at Big White's reply:
Hi Krista / Cal -
Thanks much for the great review. I saw some pics (and the video) from the wedding. K rista you looked gorgeous! Cal, not so much (just kidding Cal). What a handsome couple.
I saw pics of Cal's dad at the wedding too. Wow! Incredible that he was able to get the medical clearance to attend. So glad all worked out well for you both.
Very warm regards,
N Rhodes, Married on 20/05/2012
Such a Beautiful Home - This home is incredible. If you would want it, it's there. From the amount of pure space to the exceptional quality of everything in the home, it leaves you quite flabbergasted that someone is willing to share this. We stayed here as a honeymoon for a few days and it's so worth it, even in off-season.
The master bedroom was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The master bath was... wow... just wow. The shower was large with shower heads everywhere. The tub was built perfectly for two. Since it was just the two of us we didn't make use of the other bedrooms, but we thought it was awesome that they each had their own bathroom, plus there was extra bathrooms to use around the house.
The laundry area was awesome and I think the boot dryers were an amazing touch. I hate cold wet feet! The media room was amazing. With a huge DVD collection we weren't bored for a second and it's a great place to just socialize in as well. We also spent time in the great room just enjoying the views, the fireplace and the ambience that the Crescendo brings. The kitchen is well stocked with every gadget, pot, or item you may need including some basics you might forget.
We LOVED the pool area. We heated it up to hot tub temps and just relaxed. I could imagine it would be the best part of a long day on the slopes or a great way to keep kids entertained. I can imagine had the kiddo been allowed on the honeymoon, majority of her time would have been spent here!
There's also a game room which is great for when you're tired of being a prune, but we didn't have a chance to use it during our short stay.
There is plenty for everyone to do so that you don't feel crowded as this place sleeps a lot of people. I've stayed in houses before with large numbers of people and unless there are plenty of things to do, people tend to get on each other's nerves. I doubt this would ever happen here as there is just so much to do in this house. We are forever grateful that we were able to spend the few days here. I hope we can go back some day with friends to really enjoy everything the Crescendo has to offer during the winter season.
Crescendo at Big White's reply:
Thanks so much for the GREAT review! You got to experience Crescendo during our summer season, too, which I think has always been a great time to be there. You'd be shocked, though, to see how much we've improved things since your stay: especially our outdoor areas. We now, for example, have a 38" built-in BBQ (i.e., built into 10' of granite countertop). That's 42 hamburgers, according to the manufacturer.
You also got to experience Crescendo with just the two of you. Because Crescendo can accommodate a large group, often the assumption is that Crescendo's too large for an intimate getaway. You got to experience, first hand, how untrue that assumption would be.
When we designed Crescendo, it was my intention to build a home that would "flex" to the needs of various groups, and that intention was certainly accomplished. I, personally, for example, spend weeks at a time at Crescendo all by myself, and I LOVE IT! I love the fact that every space is usable, by having beds fold into walls, glass walls that can close to make bedrooms (when needed), and such like.
Anyway, I'm rambling.
Again, thanks so much for taking the time to write us a review.
