Priding itself on customer service the Viscount Gort Hotel is an independently owned property with more than 8,500 square feet of banquet and meeting areas divided amongst two banquet rooms and seven meeting rooms capable of accommodating between six and four-hundred guests. The Viscount Gort Hotel was great to work with. I was a little frazzled when the sales team seemed to have a lot of turn over. I had three different people in charge of my wedding in the year and a bit that I had them booked for. But even with the turn around of people they were always fast at getting back to me. I was a little upset that they seemed to be running out of certain typed of alcohol and pop too early in the night though, so I would talk to them about that if you are planning to book with them and doing a host bar. I was happy with everything else and all in all I give them a gold star and would recommend them to anyone else I know having a wedding.

Very accommodating

Jodi was great to deal with. She was very accommodating and flexible and made sure all arrangements were taken care of. She went out of her way to make our stay memorable and the event run smooth regardless of Covid.

Wouldn’t change a thing.

Absolutely loved working with Viscount Gort for my wedding! I highly recommend it, all the staff was wonderful and friendly; I don’t have a single negative thing to say. About a year into our engagement and booking the venue (we waited 2 years), the event coordinator had changed due to having to go on mat leave. Not going to lie, I was very nervous about this, but the new coordinator Justine was wonderful! She was super easy to get along with and made the entire process painless. She paid attention to detail and made sure everything that was discussed was in our contract/day of plan.While meeting and talking with her, she would also bring up various aspects of wedding planning which my, now husband, and I never thought of asking. She really helped guide us to ensure that we had a perfect night.
In terms of timeliness, Justine and Kristi (previous coordinator) both responded promptly to my emails in great detail! I know that’s quite important for some people.
Viscount Gort offers a taste testing for the bride and groom, which you have to book We were each able to pick our own selection. It was good to see how all the food tasted together and how it would look as a full course meal at the wedding. Very reasonable pricing as well. Most other places I looked at started their lowest price at $40, whereas Viscount had some more affordable BUT still delicious options.

The night of our actual wedding went perfect (as far as I am aware, I’m sure there were some bumps in the road people didn’t tell me about :)). We had a hospitality room that came in very handy, as well as our own personal room. The hotel also did a good job at trying to keep our guests on the same floor. The bartenders and servers were all very lovely! Any problem that was brought up, they managed to find a way to fix it Ie: my dress had ripped halfway through the night, the kitchen staff were willing and happily eager to help me find safety pins.

The food was delicious and came out warm - we only had the dinner from Viscount, not the late lunch. The bartenders were quick to serve a drink - I didn’t hear any complaints from family or friends about not being served promptly.

Viscount Gort was also very accommodating about bringing in another vendor for the late nigh snack, as well as with other things. If you have something in mind and are not sure if the hotel will accommodate, don’t be afraid to ask, especially here!

Ive heard stories from other hotels/venues cutting the party short - Ie. having the place booked until 1AM but the lights are turned on at 12:30.. This did not happen at the Viscount. We were able to party until the very last second!

Like i said before, I don’t have a single negative thing to say. It was all a very positive experience and I would recommend Viscount Gort for anyone’s wedding!

I love how quickly they respond to my requests and emails. The chef will do just a about anything for you. Kristi is fantastic to deal with and Gerard is so helpful! They truly want to make your day special and help you anyway they can. Loved our experience there! Everyone complimented the food and the service at our wedding!
