Responsive and Professional Coordinator, Average Catering
Our wedding was held in the Ritz and Carlton rooms on Nov. 2019. Since we live in the States and did not have time to plan, we trusted the Ritz to handle our reception. The coordinator, Carole, performed a wonderful job. She was resourceful and extremely responsive, a plus when you're trying to manage a wedding remotely. My family had several allergies and food preferences. We appreciate Carole's efforts in ensuring that our requires were met.
I could only fly into Montreal once before the wedding and that was for the tasting menu, which Carole and the chef coordinated efficiently.
We wish that 2 things could've gone better:
1) The day of the wedding, the court yard was closed due to winds from the previous days. Additionally, half of the actual building was covered by scaffolds due to constructions. This is out of the hotel's control and our coordinator did her best to offer alternative solutions. I wish they could have allow us to take photos of the door outside of the courtyard -- because we have no memories of where our wedding was, except that it was filmed in a tan room... Nevertheless, I would advise to check the weather and construction schedule.
2) The day of the wedding, the food was average. Nothing to write home about. It was very interesting to have the filet mignon tasted like roasted beef. Though, to be fair, we did not select the Ritz for the catering but rather for their expertise and efficiency in event planning.
Overall, we're appreciative of the staff going the extra mile to make our reception special.
