Beautiful venue space

The Millcroft is a beautiful venue with a lot of outdoor spaces that are great for photos. All our guests loved our decorations and the beauty of the ceremony garden and the reception space. There were a lot of great things about this venue but also some not-so-great things. There was a lot of mixed and inconsistent information through the planning process where one day we were told one thing and the next no that’s not the case. There were also instances where we were being charged in the final wedding estimate things we never asked for like extra bottles of wine at dinner. Angelina was great at answering questions and professional/kind throughout the planning process. Kelly (our day of coordinator) was where we experienced most of the inconsistent information which made the planning process very stressful. We also found out from our dj (who happened to do a wedding here 2 weeks before ours) that Kelly was no longer with the Millcroft. It was very frustrating to not have found that out by the venue themselves as Kelly was involved in all the planning and the person who helps the ceremony and day run smoothly. However, they had Dianna fill in for the ceremony and rest of the evening and she was fantastic!! We wish we had her from the beginning as she did an amazing job helping run the ceremony smoothly and just doing a lot of small little touches throughout the evening like bringing us the cocktail hour appetizers and drinks after the ceremony and taking a photo of my dad and I from behind before walking down the aisle. Overall, the whole day was great but there were two things by the venue that should not have happened on someone’s wedding day after they’ve spent so much money/planning. Food service was quick and the wine service was great. However, our entrée was the beef tenderloin and the cooking of the meat was super inconsistent, some guests were served more rare others more well done. We had tasted this ahead of time at the meal tasting as medium rare and we were happy with it but we asked if guests could give their preference for how well done (as my cousin’s wedding did this) and they said no but that they would cook all of it at “medium” since we mentioned a lot of family members really prefer more well done. On the day, my husband and I were served rare beef tenderloin like so bloody and disgusting even one of our groomsmen said you could get food poisoning from that, it was that undercooked. So, we politely asked them to cook it longer as this wasn’t “medium rare” or the “medium” we were promised. They came back with our food way too fast that it had barely been cooked. Now, it was closer to “medium rare” but still way undercooked compared to our meal tasting, so I had to send mine back a second time. I almost switched mine with my friend beside me cause hers was cooked properly. My husband was extremely disappointed that as the bride and groom who have spent so much money on the meal were served something so awful compared to what we were promised/expected based on our meal tasting. The other thing that really upset us was the Millcroft opened the bar before dinner service was over. They knew in our timeline that my brother and us (the bride and groom) had a speech prepared for after dinner before dessert. Because of the mess up with our entrée, the service got delayed and my husband and I had to go do sunset photos for 15 minutes quickly while everyone was finishing their entrée. When we came back everything was very chaotic, the bar had been opened while dessert was being served to the people still sitting down. My brother was very upset as he did not want to do his speech when everyone’s up getting drinks and ready to dance thinking dinner is over. This made me and my husband upset too. It was so upsetting that they would open the bar before dinner service was over when the bride and groom aren’t even there and knowing that there were still speeches to be done. Every wedding I have been to has had delays in dinner service and everything else just got delayed (ie. Open bar opens later if dinner service goes longer). To do that to the bride and groom to the point that it was so overwhelming and unexpected that I started crying was just very disappointing. We didn’t let it ruin our night as we had the BEST time celebrating with our friends and family and there were also a lot of great things like how beautiful the venue is (and we would still recommend this spot) but those two things at the reception really left us disappointed.

Beautiful Venue, Wonderful Service

The Millcroft was the perfect venue for our rustic, elegant, romantic wedding. With only 50 guests, we wanted something intimate and quaint that captured our love of the outdoors.

From booking with Angelina to our coordinator, Kelly, we had excellent service from all the staff who went above and beyond both before and on our day.

Our one disappointment was the lack of flexibility in menu packages / pricing. We hoped for a dessert buffet rather than a plated dessert, but weren’t able to come to a reasonable cost adjustment to warrant it. Ultimately we stuck with the plated dessert which was delicious! The chicken supreme was moist but did lack some flavour. The appetizers and other courses were very flavourful and appropriately portioned.

This venue truly allowed us our dream wedding and we are truly appreciative to all the staff for their part in it:

A beautiful venue with wonderful food and excellent service!

We chose the Millcroft as our venue because it was super convenient to have our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all in one place. With hotel rooms, a restaurant, and spa, on-site as well as beautiful grounds this place has something for everyone. The food is delicious and the staff provided excellent service at all times, whether it was our taste testing, cocktail hour, dinner, or breakfast the morning after someone was always making sure that we - and our guests, were being taken care of.

Thank you to the whole team at the Millcroft for making our wedding special!

Beautiful intimate wedding

From start to finish, The Millcroft Inn and Spa made our wedding day one to remember. Terrific customer service, excellent friendly staff and amazing grounds. Christina and Angelina were our go to girls from our first meeting until the actual wedding day and did everything to make our day run smoothly. Our wedding was absolutely beautiful. It was small and quaint but we felt larger than life and the intimate atmosphere with our closest family and friends was exactly what we wanted. The Millcroft truly delivered and we would absolutely recommend them for weddings and any events.

A perfect wedding at the Millcroft

We got married at the Millcroft Inn on November 9, 2019. We could not have asked for a more perfect venue or more amazing staff! Christina was our point of contact from the Millcroft, and from the time we met her a year before until the wedding, she was fantastic. She was quick and professional in her responses via email, detailed, and helped us feel completely comfortable in all of our decisions.

The day of the wedding, the spaces were set up and ready for us to decorate as promised in the morning. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and the day went smoothly. The food was amazing! The venue did an amazing job accommodating dietary restrictions, including some last minute, morning of ones, and the late night food was a big hit!

The surroundings made for some incredible photos, and our guests thoroughly enjoyed the spa! Was our own little wedding oasis! Thank you Christina, and the entire Millcroft staff for an incredible event. I would highly recommend the Millcroft as a wedding venue!

Millcroft Wedding

We held our wedding at the Millcroft Inn July 2018. They were wonderful in making everything run smoothly for us and wonderfully hospitable. The pastry chef and chef was amazing in adapting the menu to our dietary needs. We really really appreciated that. Had an amazing time. Gorgeous place. Felt like we were somewhere in Europe. Thank you.

Completely recommend

My husband and I got married at Millcroft Inn & Spa in the summer of 2018 and we are so happy we did. It went beyond our expectations, from the beauty and serenity of the location, to the delicious dinner reception. On top of the wonderful location, every staff member at Millcroft treated us with genuine respect and always greeted us with a smile. We would highly recommend Millcroft to anyone who asks.

Overall wedding and reception

First like to say, the food was fantastic. They we're flexible with every request we made for meals and drinks. We had some miscommunication prior and the chef was able to quickly deliver on changes made during course of the meal.
During cocktail hour, while we got our pictures done, they came out to find us and provide us, the bride and groom, some food as well. That was fantastic.
They did have to change hands a couple of times to new administration. But each was nice.
The wheelchair lift into the river room brokedown, and we had to use the door to the waterfall and go around the back to get up to the rooms for a guest.
The hotel was able to help with every request made by the bride that night, ex: let us know when cab arrive for guest so they wouldn't have to wait outside.
Overall we had a fabulous time.
