What's your favourite diy so far?

Robyn, on March 25, 2019 at 15:12 Posted in DIY 0 45
Hi everyone! I've just passed the 3-month mark so I'm about to get serious with the DIYs. I am planning on doing my own favours (wildflower seed packets) and a "just married" sign for the car, and now I'm curious - what is everyone's favourite DIY they have done so far? I would love to see pics!!

Awesome! Thanks for letting me know. I definitely would have just bought tissue paper thinking it was the same and suffered :-)

Yea! Oh that's great that Michaels has it now. When I asked them they didn't have it yet and send me to the tissue paper, but it needs to be the actual stuff like that with the texture in it so that you can cup / shape it

Awesome! My stencils are part of the Martha Stewart Living brand. I also used regular tape to hold the stencil in place in order to paint it: pro-tip!

Ooo Thank you so much! I will give them a shot. What do you mean by actual crepe paper? Is that this stuff? https://canada.michaels.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-MichaelsCanada-Site/en_CA/Product-Show?pid=10539558

I decided to go with a foam board; it was worth it! The quality is great and I won't be paranoid about the wind if there's a breeze.

Definitely keep an eye out for another 40-50% off sale (if you intend to use Vistaprint) so you can save on either the foam board itself or the easel.

We just got it off amazon, it was $70? And you can make it tall like we did or you can make it wider and shorter

I am attempting to make a wax paper backdrop. I am just waiting for the wax paper to show up. I'm gonna need lots of patience and time for this giant thing!

That's a really cute idea ^^ they're fairly easy to make. I've found tons of tutorials on pinterest (for example https://craftedtobloom.com/diy-crepe-paper-english-rose) just really make sure you got actual crepe paper because you have to be able to shape the paper into petals and you can sorta pull and shape them into it easily with crepe paper Smiley smile

Wine Favours! What's your favourite diy so far? 8

100% our wine favours! We did home-made wine in 350ml bottles (1 per guest) with custom printed labels that fit our theme and thank you tags! We did this one, a Blush, as well as a white wine! They are both super good IMO and I'm so happy with how they turned out! And the making of the wine with my FH was just such a wonderful experience! We put so much into these!

I was taking pics of how I want the venue to set up certain areas (they will be more spread out at the venue...my coffee table is only so big lol)- I loved doing all of the DIY...I didn't have a lot, but I had some old frames that I painted gold, all of the signage I printed with a template from Etsy, I made the guest book with Shutterfly, I stained the 'Advice Cards' box, found Advice Cards/Mad Libs/I Spy templates from etsy, made a few tic tac toe chalk boards, and we are doing a Do It Yourself photo booth with a selfie stick and some props I found in Etsy and from Walmart Smiley smile
