What will you do for your ceremony entrance?

Marianne, on September 27, 2020 at 11:00 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 7
Hi Community! Hope you are all staying safe and your wedding plans are going smoothly!

I am getting married next year in the Montreal area. About half of my checklist is done so, I am quite happy with that. However, when I was going through my list I realized that I was missing something : music for the ceremony while we walk down the aisle!
I remember at my dad's wedding, we did something original. We played the couples favorite song, to kind of slow dance down the aisle and welcome the bride. It was a fun way to do an entrance!
What do you plan on doing for your ceremony? Are you going to have a live musician or just music on speakers? What kind of music will you be playing? Walk or dance?
I am looking for ideas and suggestions. If you already had your wedding, feel free to share your experience!
Cheers! :-)

That's wonderful! We already agreed on having a skilled DJ to play music during the reception that celebrates both our cultures and traditions, but I hadn't thought of that for the aisle walk. This could develop into a nice surprise for my FH 😉

Awesome tip, I'll look into that. thank you! ❤️

Thank you! I've been part of many wedding parties before, so I'm trying to be organized now while I have the time, to make it as easy as possible for my future self when I don't.

Congratulations to you, that sounds absolutely lovely! Love the idea of strings for the ceremony and cocktail hour. Thanks for the tip, I'll definitely look into it! ❤️

Congratulations! You must be a very organized bride! We are renewing our vows and have chosen to have a string quartet play while our guests arrive and then play a cover of one of our favourite songs while, although not considered "etiquette" his mom escorts him and my dad escorts me and we meet at the altar, and our children will walk down ahead of us in their couples with our step-grandchildren as well. We want our family all involved and each family will walk to a different tune. I am avoiding Pachabel Canon in D because it isn't a wedding and using songs like Perfect by Ed Sheeran, Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol, Can't Help Falling in Love by Elvis, and At Last by Etta James all done by the quartet. They sound amazing played on strings. The quartet will then continue to play a mixture of classical and contemporary music during cocktail hour with the DJ taking over or dinner and the dance. Smiley smile

We had our DJ play a cultural song for the aisle walk of the wedding party and ourselves. A song that you both love can be the choice to walk down to.

We actually had our DJ come to the ceremony so we gave him a playlist for the whole ceremony from the girls walk all the way to leaving the aisle.

Congrats on having most of your list done, we are just starting our process. I am also getting married in Montreal. I plan to have our nephew who is a great guitarist play at our ceremony. We haven’t decided on songs yet given we are getting married in 2022.
