I got him 2 things. He's really picky and doesn't like "whatever" gifts so I got him:

-the Anova Sous Vide cooking thing (he picked this out, I don't know what it's called exactly but its some fancy cooking tool, got it on sale on Black Friday for $170).

-A gift basket full of hot sauces and spicy BBQ sauces with a tag that says "you spice up my life" for about $15 (got them all on sale, lots had funny names like Flame of Thrones) - he opened this one early and loved it Smiley smile

I bought my FH a new pair of Big winter mitts. And I know this is boring but I bought him something like 8 pair of Joe Boxers. We decided not to spend to much on Christmas this year as we are planning a wedding after all.

We always have a limit as that is the only way we won't go broke or overboard lol. I got my husband a sweater, 2 books (a comic and the history of DC Comics), a milk frother (we both like fancy coffee/tea and hot chocolate), a Batman ornament, a mezzaluna (fancy kitchen knife) and then a few stocking stuffers.

For the last 3 yrs we have not been doing gifts for one another to save money for our future house and now with that post poned and a wedding coming up, we absolutely avoided gift giving just spent time together or cooked each other's fave meals.

However he NEEDED new PJ pants so I picked up a couple during the Black Friday sales so didn't spend too much money on them.

We put a spending limit this year (which, is still more than I ever spent on gifts combined before meeting him!). So, I got him a Detroit Lions t-shirt (his new favourite nfl team so he doesn't have any gear for them yet), a card box for Magic (a nerdy game he plays with a friend of his), and a gift certificate for a virtual reality experience (something he's wanted to try).

I always like presents that are memontos of your time together... however I didn't do that for my FH this year... this year we're focusing on mainly doing stockings so I went with smaller items.

Climbing chalk (He's an avid climber but it sort of looks like I bought a bag of coke), A new bluetooth speaker for camping, Socks, a mini bottle of tobasco (its so cute), a mini jar of nutella, John Wick 2 DVD (he has a weird obsession), A chocolate orange, a toblerone, some new tennis balls and a new work out shirt.

I also got him one item for under the tree which is a new climbing harness.

Ahhh... I understand. That makes it much harder. My FH and i did long distance for about 4 years while i got my university degree... Fortunately we were only about 4 hours apart so could still plan to do things together about once or twice a month.

As a last minute gift I got him the typical gift for men gift, underwear lol it's his favourite brand and he just threw out his last pair in this brand so he will be excited! I also got him a photobook from Shutterfly, made it kind of a story of our 2017 together. I also got him some kitchen thing he's been wanting for ages!

I usually find something for us to go do for christmas rather than buying him an item... So this year I got my FH tickets for us to attend the Victoria Whisky Festival! and a couple nerdy t-shirts i couldnt pass up.
