Walking down the aisle

Tori, on October 29, 2018 at 10:55 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 59

So this is a question that I have been putting off but figure - why not survey the rest of the community??

Will you be walking down the aisle with your dad?

Walking down the aisle 1

Will it be both parents?

Walking down the aisle 2

How about you and your MomWalking down the aisle 3

Flying solo?Walking down the aisle 4

How about a kid filling the role?Walking down the aisle 5

Any body else like an uncle or brother?

I myself have yet to decide... Do I want to go solo, with my dad, or both parents??

He's waaayy too stubborn for a wheelchair. About 15 years ago his doctor told him he should start using a cane and he's only just started using it.

What about if you were to get your Mom to push him in a wheelchair and you could walk with both of them?

I would love for my dad to walk me down the aisle, but he has mobility issues and sometimes finds walking very difficult. It varies from day to day so if he isn't feeling up to it I will definitely have my mom walk with me.

My FFIL offered to do it if my dad can't but I think he's overstepping a bit there (he's also best man so it wouldn't make sense). My dad used to have a negative opinion on my relationship with my FH but he has come a long way and even gave him his blessing to propose last year.

At first my plan was to go solo down the aisle. Until my mom suggested I ask my step dad. As soon as she suggested it my first response was not without her too. She is my one constant my entire life. If anyone should walk with me it should be her.

I would say that my only concern with having both parents walk me down the aisle is the fact that I am wearing a big ball gown dress and don't want them stepping on it 😂

"What I want to do"... I was talking to my Dad on the weekend (they were moving into their new house) and I pulled him to the side to go over a song I was considering for the Father/Daughter dance - and he basically told me I will be walking with both him and my Mom...

At the same time, I don't think I would have been able to come to a decision anyway and my Mom raised me just as much as my Dad if not more (she worked from home) so I guess it worked out in the end.

I know it's totally untraditional but, my fiancee and I have decided to walk down the aisle together. We attended a wedding a few years ago for friends of ours, who were gay, and neither of them wanted to be escorted in by their parents. I loved watching them come in hand in hand as equal partners and have wanted to do the same ever since.

I will be walking across a wooden bridge to an island which is a fairly popular tourist spot (Pyramid Lake island) so space is an issue. For that part of the walk I am thinking it will be only my Dad and I and then my son and Mom can join us after we cross the bridge for the remaining part of the walk.

Just my dad and me. We didn't always have the best relationship (especially when I was a teenager), so now that we are in a much better place, I think this would be really special for us.

My dad. I've always seen myself walking down the aisle with him - I never thought it would happen (i'll be one month shy of turning 38 when I get married).

My mom and grandma will be at the front, both probably bawling their eyes out.

I am hoping to get bouquet charms to put a picture of each of my grandfathers, both of whom have passed away.

My mom and stepdad will walk me down the aisle. Initially I was just going to have my mom do it. She's done pretty much everything, including raising 4 children on her own, so it made sense to me that she'd walk me down alone. However, my stepdad and I have gotten pretty close, and he means a lot to me, so I'll have him walk me down as well.

My Poppy (grandfather) was the father figure in my life, so if he was still here he'd do it and I wouldn't have had to think about it, but this is a nice backup plan since he's passed away.

Dang.... well then.... what about a veil? are you wearing a blusher that has to be lifted? Maybe you can have your dad-dad do that if you do? Otherwise... ask him if he wants to get hugged first or second once you get down the aisle?

If not... well we're here for ya!!

So my step dad has been in my life 12 years so a super long time, here's the kicker though: I am not doing a father daughter dance.
