I think it is up to whomever is getting married but I know it would not have worked at my wedding.

I'll be passing on this trend. I don't think that it falls in the wedding category for mine. Black is for funerals and unless we are mourning the loss of the single life - I don't want it at my wedding and would probably not compliment it at someone else's...

Love it!! Our starry night theme will be landing us a very dark cake as well with lots of sparkles!! So elegant!

They can be done to look extremely wedding-y, with the right decorations... and one of my main colours is black. I think for my winter wedding it could be done... but I want buttercream frosting, and I don't want my guest's teeth turning black! So that's a no-go for me.

I think if it matches your wedding colours sure, why not.l? I think people assign too much symbolism to colours and black gets a bad rap, but it’s beautiful.

I personally wouldn’t go with a completely black cake but I would have black accents as black is a small part of my colour scheme.

I wouldn't want to eat it! There's a lot of food colouring in that icing but they do look nice.

I absolutely love it!! I think they have to be decorated just right for it to look 'weddingy' and can def go wrong but I'm seriously considering it. My men will have black on black suits, flowers are white and it's a winter wedding so I think something like that first one would work for my wedding.

Looks gorgeous yet not what I would see at a wedding unless its Halloween or gothic theme.

I can definitely see why people would chose them, but I would never have one at my wedding!

They’re gorgeous but don’t scream wedding to me. They just look like fancy birthday cakes
