Rent, Borrow, or Buy - Ceremony Decor

Joey, on March 11, 2019 at 07:05 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 29

Arches, arbors, aisle runners, candles, and backdrops are just some of the things you could use to decorate your ceremony space. Will you be renting decor from your venue or a decorator, borrowing some pieces from friends or neighbors, or seeking out pieces to buy yourself?

Will you rent, borrow, or buy your ceremony decor?

Ours is going to be super minimal decor-wise. The location itself is already beautiful, so it doesn't need much. We've been playing around with the idea of borrowing photos from people who have passed we would have loved to be there or some of the bride and groom with family and hanging them on the aisle end in black dollar store frames.

Buying minimal decor, since the venue already has nice benches and arch.

Were buying and diy'ing everything... I did consider renting but for the cost its not worth it. Have found everything I'm using second hand so pretty cheap

We’re renting from the venue, that way we don’t have to worry about setting up and taking down

It's a combination of borrow and buy. The daughter of my mom's close friend is getting married before me and she offered my mom and I the decor pieces. How much we borrow depends on her colour scheme and if they are comfortable with us repainting some items.

Venue provides chairs/covers and the alter so we are technically renting those.

All other decor we are buying/DIYing/

We are getting married in front of a fireplace, so I am not decorating too much. But I did buy some LED candles and some other stuff which I plan to resell.

    Bit of both

Renting cake stands to display our doughnuts on the dessert table, brass candlesticks and vases for the tables, and an easel to display seating chart.

Most of the items we bought were purchased off of a local wedding group on facebook, which has saved us some money. I plan to sell it all again once we're done with them, so its not really a huge hit to the wallet.

Rent. We're only getting benches though, the pricing of these things in particular were quite shocking so we've decided to keep it simple

Rent/Buy! Hiring a decor company to do some of the decorations (they will take it home at the end) and then buying some things ourselves whether DIY or keeping items (flowers) from the decor people!

Majority of the decor will be bought and DIY, with major items like chairs and runners and such rented.

Our ceremony space is outside, so we are sticking to the natural look of the space and not adding much to it. Our venue also provides a lot of decoration, so we will most likely borrow from them and then buy anything they don't have

All of our wedding decor will be rented. Most of it will be for the reception space.

We're choosing not to have an arch structure, and will instead be standing in a floral semi circle.

It’s an outdoor ceremony so we’re keeping decor to a minimum but we will purchase what we need.

Bit of renting and buying. I will be renting some decor items such as the card box, but will be buying some things like the (fake) flowers.

We have very minimal ceremony decor, as we're getting married in a pretty grand venue, but are adding flowers, which are part of the floral package we purchased. So I guess buying for this one.

Luckily the venue doesn't need much decor since it has lots of charm already and some decor rentals are already included. We'll probably buy extra knick knacks off the Facebook marketplace and kijiji.

We’re buying the flower ceremony arrangements. The aisle runner and draping is from the venue. And I’m thinking of buying picture frames and doing a little diy with some old childhood photos of us down the aisle hanging from the chairs.
