Proposal Perfection - Was there a ring?

I actually asked him while we were celebrating something else, it wasn't planned at all so there was no ring at first. We bought rings together after and couldn't be happier with the ones we chose.

There was a ring. But we ended up returning it (sort of long story) and picking out/designing a new one together.

We didn't have a ring. I did a study abroad in France for all of January and February of 2016 and Tyler came to visit for a week near the end of the trip. We drove to a tiny little town in the Black Forest in Germany and spent the day hiking up along the most magical waterfall we have ever seen (waterfalls are our Thing) and when we got back to the bottom, he turned to me and said, "Okay. I thought about asking your dad and buying a ring before I came over here, but I didn't but if there's anywhere in this world I want to propose to you, it's right here, right now, so...can I?" And then he got down on one knee in the snow and proposed to me right then and there! It was honestly so perfect for us, I just loved it. And then when he got home he spoke with my dad and bought a ring and proposed to me again on my birthday in April!

Oh yeah! And it was absolutely perfect! I had shown him images of what I liked before the engagement and he picked out a style that was truly so perfect!
