One of our appetizers are grilled cheese and tomato soup shots! Dessert are crepes drizzled with maple syrup... and out of town guests will be receiving some Canadian items in their gift bags- Tim Hortons gift cards, Roots flip flops.

If our wedding fell on the Canada day long weekend we definitely wood. Otherwise doesn’t suit our theme and our venue has us limited with options ie we can’t bring in butter tarts or something

I am definitely planning on including something, I teach Canadian civics so I feel it should! My engagement ring contains Canadian diamonds already!

The one thing that was included in our wedding though not being Canada Day, was maple leaf clip with escort cards. It was red to represent the True North as family and friends were attending the wedding. It was also part of the colour scheme for the modern colours that matched the back of the menu cards and escort cards.

Our wedding has red but it’s burgundy, not Canada Day red! Maybe we’ll throw a maple leaf or two in for decor but I think that’s as far as we’d go.

We had joked about maple syrup favors since they would definitely not go to waste with my fiance's syrup habit!
