On A Scale Of 1-10... how comfortable are you calling your partner "fiancé(e)"?

Joey, on July 29, 2019 at 07:49 Posted in WeddingWire 0 30

Do you absolutely love when you get to refer to your significant other as your fiancé(e) (10), or does that term make you laugh uncomfortably? Do you keep forgetting and calling them the same thing you did before you were engaged (1)?

How comfortable are you calling your partner "fiancé(e)"?

7 - sometimes I slip and call him my boyfriend (I've been calling him that for 8 years so it's taking some time to break the habit)

I hardly ever refer to him as finance I usually say husband. We are technically common law. I think I had a harder time calling him my boyfriend.

    10. By the end of the engagement, it was super normal. Now I have to get used to saying "husband"!

I would say 10. He loves telling everyone I'm his wife. I call him my fiance or husband.

1 - we've been together 18 years and have 2 children together. He called me his fiancee the other day and it sounded funny to me. I already refer to him as my husband. A lot of people who know us don't know we aren't already married.

2 lol I hate the term it sounds pretentious! But we’ve been together for 9 years and have two kids so saying boyfriend doesn’t seem right either. I actually say husband a lot

We’re both still getting used to it and have to correct each other when we constantly use “gf/bf” haha But it does feel weird (in a good way) saying it.

I find I use husband more than fiance even though our wedding is still 100 days away! Fiance almost feels braggy - like "hey, look, we're engaged!" and we've been together for 8 years so 'boyfriend' feels understated. Before we were engaged I used 'partner.'

When we got engaged I would always accidentally call him boyfriend still but only for a month or so.. now that we are married I have absolutely no issues calling him husband!

    10!

It was easy and fun since the ring he had me try when moving in a few days after fitting perfectly and considered being engaged saving on buying another ring.

    10. It took a couple of weeks to get used to it but now that it's been over a year, I am very comfortable calling him my fiance.

10! It was easy to make the change for me from boyfriend to fiance. I have to do a deep breath when someone calls him my boyfriend so i don't freak out.

    5.

When I speak French with my family and friends, I'll 100% call him my fiancé.

When I speak English, I avoid the word like the plague. The accent used to pronounce the word, in English, is like nails on a chalkboard for me: It sounds pretentious! So I just call him my boyfriend, partner or even sometimes, my husband...depending on the situation.

I would have to agree with you on this one! To some people I call him my boyfriend, and to some hes my Fiance. I love it, but its just taking a bit for it to catch on. Plus some people I would rather them not know I am getting married (I work with a vulnerable population, so I try to keep things very private with my clients)

Like 4 - I don't know what it is, it's just strange to me. I'd almost rather say husband at this point rather than fiance! haha
