How long did it take to get your pictures back?

Kaisha, on April 2, 2019 at 22:26 Posted in Just married 0 11

We got married just over 2 weeks ago so I know its soon. I am already checking my emails regularly though, I just want to see all the pictures so much. Would love to know what to expect roughly.

Thanks everyone, our photographer was quick due to it being off season. We got our pictures within a month!

Usually your photographer will send you a couple of sneaks 1-3 weeks after your wedding if it's during busy season. Then you'll have to wait about 2-3 months for all your photos. Also, keep in mind if your photographer is super popular, he/she may be backlogged in editing the ones before yours. Our photographer sent us sneaks a week after and then we got the rest 2.5 months after. They turned out great!

We got a sneak peek about a month later and our photos actually took 3 months. I'm not complaining as they were amazing! But, I think 2 months is a little more usual.

Some photographers take a month to month and half to edit the pictures, approved by you and printed (chosen for your album) and delivered to you. It depends on how long you have been told. I'm sure you will get them in time and the usb stick too with all the pictures.

I emailed him as he had mentioned doing sneak pick pictures. He will have them ready by the weekend! I can't wait. I was hoping with it being off season I might get them quicker but he is also a full time photographer so he has all of this clients that come to his studio as well!

My photographer says 4-6 weeks for proofs, another week for a sneak peak, then a week or two after that for the final photos!

I know it'll be tough to wait for photos, but it'll definitely be worth it! Smiley laugh

A couple of months is about right. Does your photographer have a Facebook page? Ours will sometimes post a couple of their favourites on their Facebook page as a sneak peak before they finish editing them all.

I would think that a couple months is about right. You have to think that during the weekends they are probably photographing other weddings and then during the week editing yours, the couples prior to you, and the couples after you.

I plan on asking my photographer (who is also a friend) to edit at least 2-3 pictures so we can choose one for the thank-you card and send those out asap! Other than that we are well aware that we will probably wait longer than that for all of the photo's as it's only a part-time job for her.

I would ask your photographer her turn around time for her photographs. Mine told me upfront it would be 8 weeks. Most people I know have said the average is 2 months. Some photographers give sneak peaks though

It took my FSIL 2.5 months for photos I think and 3 months for her video.

Does your contract specify when they will have the photos to you?

My contract says 6-8 weeks I think.

Our photographer said about 4-6 weeks for proofs and then the finals and photo book a few weeks after that!!

Photography is a lot of work! I would give it 2 months before I started following up with them!
