Food for Kids

Hank, on April 1, 2020 at 19:48 Posted in Wedding reception 0 3

For those with kids aged less than 20 months, what are you feeding them at the reception? They're still so young to the point where they have special feeding schedules and many parents probably wouldn't want kids that young to eat processed foods like chicken fingers. And pasta meals would be messy for kids that age. Some parents are telling us we shouldn't order them a meal because chances are they won't eat or finish it but we want to give them something.

Any suggestions on what to get for kids that age? Preferably something classier than a Happy Meal.

We are not having children attend our wedding. But as others have said toddlers don't each much to begin with. So what about different snack set up for them when its time to eat. Gold fish, cheese or fruit for example. Finger food that are not messy.

My venue doesn’t charge for kids 2 and under... other than that We are probably going to do chicken fingers and fries amongst other things.

You could do a smaller portion plate of what the adults are having or something simple like chicken and a bland vegetable. Considering they are all under age 2, they won’t need a full course.
It is common though for children to just not eat or pick off their parents. You could offer what we called a “bandit plate” which is basically an empty plate for the kid to put any food off the parents’. Either works.
