Diy your wedding

Helena, on January 10, 2017 at 12:41 Posted in DIY 0 11
Hello girlies,
I was wondering if a lot of you will go for some diy ? Or already did some? What do you think about it ? We have so many ideas and the chance to have my Futur mother in law, sister in law and also me very crafty hands so I though it might be a good idea to save some money here and there.

Oh I'm gonna get crafty for my decor for sure! I think I'm more of a Thrift Flipper than a DIYer though. I'm probably going to make my own wood signs or glass ones using old picture frames or even an old window for the seating chart. We got an old mail box from an antique store that s going to be our card box.

We're going to try and DYI some greenery garlands for the tables because those are hella expensive to get from the florist. We'll do a test run of this first to see how it holds up and how long it lasts. And if they're a total pain to make.

I printed out the welcome package information at home and the heaven note for guest book signing.

Hurricane lamps and small gold wreath were bought having black ribbon hot glued on the head table centerpeices.

Wedding progeams printed at home 2 sided and folded glued onto the stick.

I have always thought DIY would be so much fun and a great way t save money! We created our own invitations out of an old postcard photo. I'm planning on using our bouquets as table center pieces. As we are having a very small wedding (we only invited 6 couples) we decided to forgo a lot of the frills. Good luck!

DIY is definitely fun and as Valerie said, there are a lot of crafty brides on here! I had so much fun putting together our chalkboard signs, welcome bags, centerpieces, escort cards, guestbook, etc and it was really nice because people noticed the little details we put into everything!

One thing to keep in mind though is that while DIY is fun and makes things more personalized, it doesn't always mean that it will be less expensive. Depending on the project and amount of materials you need, it can get pricey! For that reason, we left some of our projects up to the professionals, like our paper flowers and invitations. (Though Valerie has been making some beautiful paper flowers!) If you do plan to do DIY projects, make sure to sign up for Michaels' coupons because they're always doing great deals!

What sort of projects are you looking to do?

Oh this forum is full of crafty DIY brides (myself included). I'm making personalized board games for our centerpieces, made the invitations, my bouquet (paper flowers), table numbers, I'm also working on making place cards, escort cards, guest book, ring box, and various decorations.

What projects do you have in mind to make?
