diy shipped to destination?

Leah, on April 22, 2018 at 21:55 Posted in DIY 0 4
Early stages of planning.

Wondering if it’s worthwhile to diy certain elements and ship them cross country to the destination?

May opt for rental instead, but was just wondering if anybody had ever done something similar...?

I DIY'd a few thing for my wedding and shipped them to my in-laws place as the wedding was being held in their city (across the country). It can definitely reduce the cost if you do your homework first (check weight of items, how much it costs to ship, are they breakable, cost to make them). Otherwise, I went ahead and rented stuff that wasn't going to be worthwhile. Definitely need to do the math first though to see if you'll be saving time and money

    Thanks for your input.
    Agreed.
I just can’t see it being worthwhile.

I think renting is probably a better option. DIY projects can get pricey, depending what you are making and what you need, and shipping costs can add up! Plus, if you DIY, you will have to deal with everything after the wedding as well.
