DIY or Buy? - Table Numbers, Seating Charts, & Escort Cards

Joey, on April 16, 2018 at 08:50 Posted in DIY 0 25

We want to know what wedding projects you're taking on by yourself, and which you are leaving up to the professionals.

When your guests find their seats, will they be assisted by items that you made yourself, or are you purchasing them?

We have the place cards and the holders made. As for table numbers and seating charts, we're not sure yet if we will be doing 1 long table or 3-4 small ones. If we do end up with multiple tables, I have an old window set aside from our cottage to use and will probably enlist my FMIL's calligraphy skills for the numbers!

I have actually made all our center pieces, table numbers and I’m putting the seating plans on windows so it will look amazing. We chose to take on many DIY projects.

We're doing our own seating chart. One of my bridesmaids sisters, who's also a friend of mine, will be doing our table numbers. No escort cards.

We’re having reserved signs for the front rows at the ceremony and at two tables for our parents at the reception. That’s it. So we won’t have table numbers, or a seating plan or anything.

I’m thinking of either creating a chart in alphabetical order with table numbers beside each name, or having place cards that they can pickup and take to their table.. not too sure yet. I feel like traditional table charts would take a long time to find your name. I bought my table numbers from micheals, and the holders for them second hand from a coworker.

For table numbers i ordered some wood ones from amazon and spray painted them rose gold. The seating chart i will either get made or use a template off etsy and use vista print. I am not doing escort cards but place setting menus with a template i got off etsy.

DIY! Not sure exactly how we will be doing the seating chart. My thought is to use flower pots. This was our inspiration:

I’m looking at ordering this template and finishing it off with my details and I can change the background to navy blue to match our invites! I think it’s gonna look pretty good

Making my own. I have made gnomes for seating everyone. For our venue we have to have what everyone is getting for dinner.

Made out seating chart, but kept it simple. Found a multi-frame piece, and I'm printing out the names of each people at the table like a photo to put in it. This is it like it will be set up at the venue.

DIY! I make vinyl signs/frames, so I'll be creating all of my wedding signs, seating chart, etc. No escort cards at the wedding, but I will also be doing the table numbers.

I DIY'd my seating chart. Mine was a map of the world with everyone's names on it. My MOH made it in Microsoft Publisher and then we got it printed at Staples

My uncle's wife actually made our seating chart for us. She got an old window and traced everyone's names onto it for us. It was held up by an old painting easel in the barn where we had our reception.

We bought a template for these items as well from Etsy but will be printing them at home, except for the seating chart which will need to be printed at staples because it's a larger piece of paper.
