Cohabitation - Traditional or Modern?

Traditional, mostly because of our families though. Modern in every other sense, and I am actually kind of nervous that the wedding will coincide with moving in together. It feels like two big events getting smooshed together, and I worry it will be overwhelming for us both. That being said, we have vacationed together, and spent a week away at friends' places here and there, so we are very aware of things like our respective tidiness levels, chore-sharing, and alone-time requirements. Hopefully we'll be too excited by the novelty to be overwhelmed.

I moved into his home and country surroundings. Time went by and made our apartment after selling the home modern and moved again to same area as before different section. He seems to like the granny antique décor as I wanted modern. Modern is going to be done for sure.

As for before or while being engaged. We weren't engaged though he had 2 rings that didn't fit him and it fit me. We decided I would keep it and 2 1/2 years later, he said he didn't mind a small wedding as the ring was the proposal.

Modern, we have officially lived together for 2 years before getting engaged.

Totally modern, we meet when he moved into the apt above mine and about a month later my roommate had to move out so I moved him in and we've been living together for 9 years. My parents are divorced so I always wanted living together first.

We officially moved in together after only two months dating. A year later and newly engaged so it worked out!

Modern. We lived in separate rooms as roommates and then started dating so naturally we just moved in together before we got engaged.

That's so awesome to hear! We're saving it all for marriage as well! We're also young by today's standards (23) and started dating when we were 17 I'm happy to see there are others like us. Stay strong!

Modern!
we moved in together two years in August and will be getting married in October.
We both thought living together was the most obvious path for us.

Traditional! Got engaged after dating for 3 and a half years and will be married after 4 and a half years of being together. Saving everything for marriage! We are young

Moved in together in July.
Marrying next April.
Pragmaticism trumps romanticism.
(But he’s my best friend and I wouldn’t have it any other way)

Moved in together beginning of this year, got engaged a month later and getting married in October (8 months after engagement)

Traditional. We are moving in after.

Modern! We’ve lived together a year on May 1st and we’ll have been living together for two years by the time our wedding comes next year!

Modern I guess, although my parents did the same thing. We lived together for a while then moved to another province together. Living together definitely helped us truly get to know each other.

Modern. We moved in together after dating for six months and we’ll be married around our three year anniversary.

Traditional! Dating for over 4 years and living apart! (however only about 5 minutes apart haha!)

We will be looking to get a house before the wedding... still not sure if we will move in together before we are married or save it for right after!

Very modern. We lived about 45 minutes apart when we started "dating"... so we already mostly lived together right away... then he officially moved in about 2 months in, and we got our first place together after 6 months.

We have now been living together over 5 years (6 years by the wedding).

Modern - We will have already lived together for 6 years when we get married.

Modern. We moved into very early in the relationship, 4 months. Then about 8 months later he popped the question!

Traditional. I will move in with him after the wedding until our leases are up a month later. Then we will find a place together.

We are going to be a mix of both. Currently we are traditional - living separately right now but that is because I am in school and it doesn't make sense to move in together if I can't contribute towards the living expenses. At the end of the month i should be graduating school, but we are moving into a condo together in October which will be one year before the wedding. At that point we will be modern

Traditional. We live apart. I’m starting to move my stuff over, but I won’t be living with him until after the wedding.
