Ceremony Programs: Necessary or Not?

Lynnie, on December 17, 2018 at 09:05 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 32

Are programs a necessity to help your guests follow the ceremony? Are you using your programs to list your wedding party, honor special loved ones, or share your thanks? Do you think ceremony programs are necessary or not?

No need for programs. Maybe if it was a church wedding but we're not having that

I started looking a little more into this, and I’m starting to think it might be a good idea, I don’t know if I’ll make one for everyone, maybe just a basket with enough for half, since most people are couples and some wont care lol

No. It'll be short and sweet, so no programs needed.

Not necessary but a nice additional touch for the wedding. We are doing ceremony and reception programs so that everyone knows what it happening when. We mostly did the reception one cause it ties our place setting together really well though

I was sure they weren't necessary until I heard a couple of my Bridesmaids say that of course we need them so everyone will know the Wedding partys names... my Mom also says we need them to scrapbook but I haven't checked prices yet.

    Not necessary.

I think these are only necessary if you're doing a HUGE detailed ceremony (ex, Jewish Orthodox), where guests can get lost, and not know what's going on. A program guide may be useful in that situation.

Not. I do like when other people do them though. But I don’t keep it so it’s not necessary. I keep a lot of stuff!

We did and used as fans of needed. Indian weddings take about an hour and many steps take place from the start.

Not necessary for us. I feel like this would be a wasted expense. Trying to keep the expenses as low as possible

We will have some stuff written on a chalk board, but that's it! No sense wasting the paper for a 20 minute ceremony 😊

    Not necessary.
    We’ll have signage where needed.
We also don’t have a wedding party, and won’t be having and readings or music, so there’s really nothing to print on them anyway!

Definitely not necessary. They usually end up going to waste anyway.

Nooooo, not doing it. What a waste of paper. People will figure it out it is not a long ceremony.

I especially don't see the point if you are having a short ceremony. They do make a nice fan in outdoor ceremonies Smiley winking haha

We haven’t decided yet, but i wouldn’t say it’s a huge priority. it might be nice to list the wedding party as well as to honour those who we’ve lost before the wedding

Not necessary. They always get either left behind or thrown out so not worth it for us.

Not necessary but we will likely do them! For the heck of it! Also a great place for a reminder of where the reception venue is hahaha!

Not necessary! We will have a sign out in front of the ceremony area so guests can take a look before they are seated. Our ceremony is only 15 minutes anyways so I don't see the point of making 100s of programs for people to leave behind. We'll also have the sign outside the reception room so guests can refer back to it.

Not necessary, especially because a sign at the ceremony/reception could save paper and serve the same purpose.

Not necessary and I didnt do them trying to save paper and cost. but it's a great idea if you are having a summer wedding as it can be used as a fan for your guests!

Not necessary. My mom wants them so we’ll see, maybe we’ll make them ourselves but for me personally its less than 30 mins in the church so I don’t see a point.

I don't think programs are necessary. Some of them look really nice, but it's not really something people look at too much or keep.

Absolutely not necessary! I don't get why people have these - the guests will physically see what order things take place because they are there in person. Besides, it's not like they have a say about when things happen.
