Are you DIYing your invitations?

Lynnie, on February 24, 2020 at 09:05 Posted in DIY 0 21

We want to know if you are DIYing your wedding invitations, or buying them from a pro!

Did you design your own save the dates? Print, trim, and assemble your invitation suites from an online template? Are you handwriting the guest addresses on your envelope, or paying someone else to handle all the paper details??

DIYing as much as possible! We are designing everything on illustrator and then getting them professionally printed. Making my own vellum jackets, wax seals, and hand addressing.

We custom designed them with our invitation lady and then she is making them!

We bought our invitations from VistaPrint. We did DIY our Save the Dates though.

90% DIY/10% Buy? I DIY-ed the design for everything from scratch using GIMP then got them printed on Vistaprint's use-your-own-design option

I have some experience with Adobe so I designed them myself, sent them to a company in Sri Lanka who printed them out much cheaper and then had them brought over with my aunt who travelled back from vacation. Totally diy but the best experience ever.

Neither? We did them online, using a template. Which was free, so we didn’t have to pay for them and we didn’t technically make them.

We have a graphic designer friend who has offered to design our invites and then she will help us have them professionally printed. I don't really consider this 100% DIY but we will get a lot more say in the design than we would online.

I thought about doing my own invites but decided I had enough DIYs to do. I'll order them on vistaprint I think.

I would say a little bit of both.

DIY the layout and Save the Dates from Vistaprint.

Also did my own labels for addresses

Ordered through vistaprint, and then printed all the envelopes myself! does that count as DIY?!

We bought them from a pro but I had designed them (ie chose fonts and drafted the invite) through my old stationary company.

    They turned out so nice.

A little bit of both. We ordered our invites from Invitations by Dawn and then added a blue band ribbon ourselves to each one. I also addressed the envelopes by hand.

I ordered my invites/RSVP cards from Costco, however I put them together. I also printed the addresses on mailing labels in a fancy font and then stuck the label on the envelopes.

Completely DIY everything on this front. It's definitely more time consuming, but I'm loving how everything is turning out so far.

A combination for me. We ordered the invite cards themselves from Vistaprint but I'm DIYing belly bands and learned calligraphy to do the addressing myself.

Bit of both - I got mine through Vista Print, but I edited it a bit by adding more text and added some flowers to make it more feminine Smiley smile
