Adjustable ring?

Hello! So I am trying to figure out what to do for my FHs ring. His knuckles are a different ring size than his finger so if he has a larger ring to fit over his knuckle, it's loose on his finger. But he is very worried about it getting permanently stuck on his finger so I do not want to get him a size smaller. Where is the best place to find adjustable rings? I'm looking for either white gold or yellow gold, 10k with possibly a stone in the middle. He doesn't like crazy patterns, etc. Or would a jeweler be able to make a ring adjustable?

I use a ring adjuster to make my ring fit when my fingers are smaller than other times. It's fairly cheap and versatile. I just don't know how that would work with your FH's knuckles hmmmm

I'm not sure exactly how they work, I think they're spring loaded so they compress when going over the knuckle then expand once in place on the finger.
