a couple of Diys

Cindy, on August 1, 2018 at 21:25 Posted in DIY 0 22
So I've been tackling some DIYs...a sign for the mantle, the envelope liner for my invitations, wedding wands, a cake topper and the mr and mrs sign for the headtable. I know I'm a little early but I wasn't sure if I could do them. I'd rather try it now then a few months beforehand.

I used the write feature on the cricut. It took some trial and error to position it correctly.

I'm not sure if you had already mentioned it, or if I cannot find it, but how did you do the inside of the envelope?

I used oracal 651 permanent vinyl. I haven't tried using iron on. I haven't tried placing it on wood yet. I'm not an expert at using the cricut yet and have only tried a few testers.i think if you can safely iron on wood, it probably would be longer lasting.

Which vinyl do you use on glass and mirrors? And have you tried vinyl on wood? I read that the iron on is the best because it is strong bond.

Thank you! Perfect. I always go into Michael's and buy 1 item at a time with my coupon. Michael's is just down the street from me. You did an incredible job on everything!!!

Everytime someone asks him to spell his last name, I'm like it's pretty simple (mine is quite ethnic) but now I can see there's another way. People always have a reaction when I tell people the new last name.

Oh boy that would stress me right out knowing things would have to be perfect for someone else! But it feels good to know my projects are coming along.

Thanks! The cricut, youtubers, pinterest and Instagram are my helpers. Everytime I see someone selling something I imagine if I can do it too, but cheaper. Next up using child's old easel for a wedding sign.

I did use the cricut. Funny enough I got it for work purposes as a gift but I've only been practising for the wedding. There is a learning curve but those youtubers are so helpful.

Thank you. I bought the invitation kits from Michael's so I'm trying to personalize them so they don't look like they're from a kit. That was step one. The blocks are also from Michael's I wait did those 50 or 55 % off coupons!

I hope they look like it. I'm just learning but don't want my guests to know that. Thank you.
