Disappointing and stressful

The manager of the market is wonderful and genuine but for the amount of money paid we were so so disappointed.
Communication was difficult and caused lots of extra stress in the months leading up to the wedding.
The accessibility to the market is stressful- you only have access for 12 hours. 2pm until 2am as there is the market in the morning on Saturday and it is rented out Sunday by a group so nothing can be dropped off or set up a minute before 2pm so you have to have many family members or friends to help as well as paid help.
There is nowhere to store drinks or food a single minute before 2pm.
There is no garbage disposal and have to take home all garbage even from the bathrooms which was a major stress at 2am after a day full of wedding.
The hired helpers are expensive and were not helpful. They had to be told to help set up instead of doing what they were paid to do. They did not follow instructions to take decorations down and clean up cans throughout the night causing our family members to clean everything up at the end of the night and didn’t even help clean until someone got angry with them to help as they were being paid.
When all is said and done the venue costs about $250 an hour for 12 hours and provides nothing more than a checklist of what you’re not allowed to do and what they are not responsible which is essentially everything.
We were very disappointed with our choice and spent the Sunday after our wedding driving back to the venue to pick up more garbage that was “left behind” after everyone was told that all garbages were taken care of and everything was done and having to follow up with the manager to report back how disappointed we were in how the help wasn’t actually helpful. She was very kind and sympathetic which was appreciated but the day could’ve been much less stressful had we gotten the help that we paid an extra $500 for.
Save your money and time - pick a venue that cares about one of the biggest days of your life as much as you do. Not worth the money and not worth the stress.

Wonderful experience!

Couldn’t have picked a nicer spot. Had to dress the barn up for the reception ourselves in a few hours after the wedding but looked beautiful. Loved the flexibility of bringing whatever we wanted to the place. and appreciated that we could hire staff to bartend for the night and help with clean up.

Wonderful experience!

We had a fantastic wedding at the market! We got to make it our own by selecting all our vendors. They were all local and we loved supporting small businesses in the Annapolis Valley. We had a caterer use the kitchen on site so our food was fresh and hot. Our cake vendor also made truffles as wedding favors. We had family help us decorate because I was particular of what I wanted but site assistants were available.
As a frequent visitor to Saturday farmers' market it was hard to imagine it as a wedding venue but once all booths were cleaned up it was a blank canvas to make my vision come alive. The building had a warm, rustic charm with wood beams and strings of lights. It felt intimate and romantic. I would definitely recommend to anyone on a budget and/or who has a specific vision in mind.
