Located in the picturesque town of Niagara on the Lake, Ontario, Pillar and Post is a unique venue that specializes in providing an amazing setting with award-winning cuisine for weddings and other special events. With exceptional service to boot, this venue has all the key elements to make any wedding celebration an unforgettable event for you and your guests.
Facilities and Capacity
The facilities found at Pillar and Post include event spaces with warm atmospheres and Tuscan-inspired decor. The Olde Library & Gallery can accommodate up to 56 and 88 guests, respectively. The Upper Canada Hall Ballroom has a capacity for 192 guests and The Secord Room can accommodate up to 24 guests for a small, intimate wedding.
The Gardens
Inspired by Monet’s gardens in Giverny, France, this event space features 21,000 square feet of gardens filled with trees, shrubs, and seasonal flowers, beautiful lighting, and stunning water features. Located directly across from the hotel, with a stunning promenade as the entrance the Gardens are comprised of three scenic outdoor ceremony spaces that can accommodate from 60 to 160 people. The Gardens also includes the traditional post & beam construction Barn which can accommodate up to 80 people for receptions.

The accommodating staff at Pillar and Post is delighted to assist couples to plan and execute their special day. The on-site event planners will help soon-to-be newlyweds with their entire event, from the first toast to the last song. They offer a variety of seasonal wedding packages that include catering services and wine with dinner.

Beware!! Horrible
Please beware! I have been visiting this venue for almost a decade and have always had a great experience which is why I chose it as my wedding venue. It was the absolute worst experience my wedding was ruined in the sense that the stress was so high I could not relax and enjoy the day. I was not advised of a bridal suite, by the time I inquired about it there was no options left for me or my fiancé. He got ready in a boardroom with no full length mirrors just one small mirror. I had to get ready in our room. When we arrived we had to fight tooth and nail for our room as we were told there was a mistake and our room was never booked. During the entire process we would call the venue asking them to process deposits they did not follow the deposit schedule. They kept telling us oh it’s loose we can change the dates whenever we please so we left it alone. On the day of the wedding we were told via email if we didn’t pay our balance (to which we were not advised of until THAT day) our “event” would be cancelled. This was 3 hours before the wedding. We asked the front desk to come to us to retrieve a credit card they refused and told us if we didn’t go to the reception they would cancel the “event”. We have been calling the venue for the last 2 weeks to discuss these issues with no calls back. There was also a wedding ceremony before ours whos reception was elsewhere. The venue allowed that wedding to enter into OUR reception venue (not part of ceremony and in separate location) and sit at our tables eating and drinking. Our family had to kick them out and change table cloths that had crumbs and spills all over. Horrifying experience to say the least. Please be careful

Very Dissapointed
Had a viewing of the venue and really liked the look of the rooms that were shown to us. The let down came when I sent an email the next day for more information because I had thought up of some questions after I returned home. I sent my email in March and I still haven't gotten a response, so I have booked my wedding somewhere else.

Perfect venue for a Christmas wedding
We absolutely loved our wedding. Guests said they had the most relaxing weekend at the hotel and said the wedding was so beautiful. Having everything on site made life easier. Our wedding coordinator Annette was just lovely and so understanding, even when we were late to our own ceremony.
The men’s day of room was so much fun. The spa was perfect, the ceremony & reception room was beautiful, and partially decorated which saved us. And the staff, including the bartender was just amazing!

great venue, some hiccups, still worthwhile
this venue is absolutely beautiful and the food was incredible but we had quite a few snags and poor communication with the main office and very little contact with the onsite coordinators. if we hadn’t of hired our own wedding planner it would have been really stressful. the issues included bumping us out of our ceremony space and trying to change the time after we’d done our invites because they double booked it, and not processing payments on time. we had to reach out repeatedly to arrange our tasting multiple times and sort out the final details. at the end of the whole thing they just sent us our final invoice with no information. our personal wedding planner saved our day completely despite all the hiccups.
on the day of our wedding service was great and everything went well. all the on-site staff were incredible and the food was amazing. i was just disappointed with the planning experience.
the barn is an amazing venue and I would still recommend it despite some of the lead up stress.

Pillar and Post is beautiful. Our outdoor ceremony at Miller House and reception in the Upper Canada Hall was perfect!
Planning process: Our coordinator Farin always responded very quickly answering all of my many questions. Planning was smooth and organized!
Food: Amazing! The quality was so good and everything was cooked perfectly. Our guests are still telling us how amazing the food was and how impressed they were.
Bar: Our bartender Jason was fantastic! He handled our 100 person wedding by himself and no one ever waited for a drink. He went over and above his duties as well. He even got the red wine stain out of my husband's shirt!
We couldn't say enough great things about Pillar and Post. We would highly recommend!!

Excellent experience
We had our wedding fully planned at Pillar and Post but had to move the reception outdoors at the last minute due to vaccine requirements. They were sooo accommodating and helped us find another venue within the Vintage group to hold the reception. We continued with the ceremony at Pillar and Post in the Rose Garden and it was perfect. It was so affordable ($600 for up to 120) and absolutely beautiful. We also got ready and stayed at Pillar and Post and the rooms were huge and comfortable.

The Perfect Little Wedding Reception
The Pillar & Post hotel made our wedding reception (and ceremony) the lovely, intimate gathering we were looking for.
From working with us on the menu (at the time, the smallest group pricing they had was for 30 people, we had 19), to ensuring we had everything we needed on the day of, the service was impeccable (thank you, Farine!).

Very beautiful venue
We got married here August 2021. The venue and gardens at pillar were a beautiful location for our perfect day. Food was fantastic at the wedding and exactly as we remembered it at our tasting. Everything exceeded expectations and we could not have been more thrilled. I will say in the planning stages responsiveness and communication could have been better but they were very flexible in making everything come together.
