About

Lang Pioneer Village Museum is a museum wedding venue located in Keene, Ontario. Nestled just 10 minutes from Peterborough, this site spans 40 acres and features 30 historic buildings dating from 1825 to 1910. The Lang Grist Mill and Hope Saw Mill flank the edges of the site while the Indian River runs through it. This museum’s goal is to preserve the history of the local community through immersive education and rentals of the space for clients hosting engaging events.

Facilities and Capacity

Lang Pioneer Village Museum offers several unique locations for a picturesque ceremony and reception. The Grist Mill Lawn is available for ceremonies with views of the river and 19th-century mill. The mill was built in 1846 out of local limestone and is ideal for couples who wish to incorporate history into their special day. The lawn can accommodate ceremonies of up to 100 guests. Alternately, the intimate Glen Alda Church is suitable for up to 65 of the couple’s nearest and dearest. The rustic chapel boasts wooden pews, large windows that allow ample natural light, and a raised stage. It is a non-denominational chapel and is ideal for couples hosting a traditional church ceremony. After the knot is tied, newlyweds and their guests can head to the Peterborough County Agricultural Heritage Building. This large reception hall is spacious enough for 150 guests and can be configured in many different layouts. Couples can personalize the space with decor, floral arrangements, furniture, and other items. The property also features quaint lanes, towering trees, and elegant gardens throughout, which serve as a beautiful backdrop for wedding photos.

Services Offered

Soon-to-be newlyweds can host their ceremony and reception at Lang Pioneer Village Museum. They also offer packages for ceremony- or reception-only events, as well as rentals for photoshoots. The on-site wedding manager is happy to assist couples with coordinating their event here. They will also be on-location throughout the event to ensure everything runs smoothly. Venue staff can provide set-up and clean-up services for the happy couple’s convenience.

    I will never return

So Lang had a few things to do to prepare for our wedding and none were done we alerted getting married on the mill lawn and they were required to have the grass cut which they did not and I’m not complaining that it was a little too tall it was at least 7 inches tall and while we were doing our rehearsal we had to stomp it down so we didn’t trip in it and even the wedding day we were stomping the grass down so we could walk

While we were getting the details set up we wouldn’t here response from any body for sometimes months and the day before bad the Dolan of we couldn’t find anyone
