Calabogie did a beautiful job with my wedding, and what went wrong was extremely minor. I was planning my wedding from across the country, and thus was trying to get things done early (up to a year in advance) and I wasn't given the contact info for the wedding coordinator until 6 mos. before my wedding. Instead I was bugging the hotel booking manager for details, and it could take up to a month to get an answer from her- which was very frustrating. Communication seems to be a huge issue at Calabogie- the only person who knew what was going on was the coordinator. They changed their policies after I'd booked and tried to hold my guests to a two-night booking minimum, and I was fielding panicked calls from my guests and had to figure it out. The goose poop was not cleaned up from the waterfront. However, they did go above and beyond in other areas- the food was delicious, they put cots in the media room for the children like I'd requested, they had the gardens and the arbour fixed on time, they let us come in a day early to decorate, etc. All in all it was a good experience, my only real complaint is that the wedding-specific staff ought to have Blackberries.

What a great location for a wedding. Everyone loved our "weekend getaway" style wedding, and we were able to have the whole resort booked to ourselves. The service was very attentive, and our coordinator was excellent. She really made the process so easy. The guests raved about how good the food was, especially since it was a buffet. Great value for your money. We honestly do not have enough good things to say about the resort. They bent over backwards to make this a great and memorable event for us, and our guests.
