I am so happy i made the decision to book our wedding for Feb.2020 at the Barcelo hotel in Huatulco, mexico. I consulted with sunwing 10 months before the wedding which i strongly recommend. I was assigned Kristina Arevalo who was my group sales rep which meant she took care of all the bookings, tickets and insurance as we had people coming from 4 different cities. I asked many many questions and she never showed any signs of annoyance as trust me there were many. There were no issues's with any of the bookings which is quite complicated as there are always the issues's that come up with cancellations etc. Also through sunwing I had Jessica Doutas who was my wedding planner in planning the wedding details regarding decor,set up , flowers , entertainment and most important menu. I was also give a wedding planner at the Barcelo "Mormay Gonzalez" who ensured everything Jessica had helped me plan came to be which it did beyond my expectations.

Everybody has been super nice and helpful with planning the big day. They are super responsive and knowledgeable when it came to all the questions and concerns we had. Also able to get us a great group rate for our wedding party

Easy to get ahold of. Lots of different options to choose from. Everyone was very professional. Wedding day went great.

Overall, great experience with Sunwing Weddings! When we booked, there was a promotion on to receive $1000 wedding planning package - it was the best thing we could have done. Even if there is no promotion, highly recommend this as it removes so much stress and makes the process seamless! Our wedding planner Antoinette Camastra was amazing to work with. She was super organized and always answered all of our questions (and I had lots ...). They organized everything directly with the hotel until a few weeks before - then they pass you off to the local wedding coordinator to finalize all the last minute details. I think if I had to do it all on my own, I would have gone insane. I was a bit nervous about choosing everything based on pictures .... however - everything I chose was EXACTLY like the photos. We were so impressed that everything was true to colour and design as what was in the photos. Great experience and I would highly recommend them to anyone. The booking side of things was a bit stressful - but the wedding side of things they have everything together!!!

Jessica and her Sunwing wedding team were super to deal with! The conference call walked us through everything we needed to think about (and we reviewed the forms line by line to ensure nothing was missed/all questions clarified). Her communications were always timely and she was great with notifying about out-of-office periods so we were never left wondering.

The hand-off to connect with the resort wedding planner was done a month in advance and we understood that communicating directly with the resort planner would be a little more sporadic so we were prepared for that as well as okay with that.

Our group of 28 was well-looked-after and we had a great wedding day!

We booked through Sunwing for our destination wedding and was provided as a promo wedding planning services with Wedding Vacations by Sunwing. I am so glad we got this, I didn’t have budgeted for wedding planner, and boy did we need the support!

We started with Christal and she answered our questions and be the middle person between us and resort. However, she didn’t really give suggestions or opinion, based on her professional experience. Christal moved onto another role within company and we were reassigned to Brie Gibowic as our destination-wedding specialist and she was awesome! She made the process so easy. She was a blessing to work with, she understood our vision, provide suggestions, made the process so easy!!!

I had so many questions and she always answered all of them, in a timely matter. She never ignored any details!

Brie, also stayed connected with Royalton wedding group and work extremely hard to make our event work- our group size was a bit larger for resort normal wedding sized, but they still pulled off the private formal event we wanted.

Brie was so knowledgeable and was never pushy for us to spend more on our wedding day. She helped us figure out how we could have the best, most beautiful wedding within our budget and was able to find ways to cut costs without comprising what we wanted. Seeing we initially started with budget for 60 person and wedding turned out to be 100+. We stayed as close as possible to our budget.

I would recommend Brie Gibowic to anyone planning a destination wedding, with Sunwing. She is so friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and all around wonderful at her job.

We unfortunately were faced with an family medical emergency, where my dad was diagnosed with cancer, just 2 weeks prior to our departure date- She handled this so great for us, very sympatric and professionally. She was able to connect us to Royalton team, and we were able to postpone and not lose any of the money, as we had already made final payment for wedding.

We booked through Wedding Vacations by Sunwing. We booked the Royalton Riveria Cancun Resort. It was amazing. Seana Grasset was our destination-wedding specialist and she was awesome! She made the process so easy. I had so many questions and she always answered all of them. She never ignored any details! Seana responded quickly to every question I had. If she was having an extremely busy day at the office she still always acknowledged by request and informed me that she would get back to me the next day. Which is all I could as for! Seana was so knowledgeable and was never pushy for us to spend more on our wedding day. She helped us figure out how we could have the best, most beautiful wedding within our budget and was able to find ways to cut costs without comprising what we wanted. I would recommend Seana to anyone planning a destination wedding. She is so friendly, attentive, easy to talk to, knowledgeable and all around absolutely wonderful at her job

BEWARE!!! I do not recommend this Sunwing Wedding Vacations at all. For starters, they never answer phone and if you leave a message you will not get a timely reply. On their website when you log in to view your travel details, I found sever errors I had to ask to have corrected like the departure and arrival date and they had 3 rooms instead of 2, the kids room only had 1 bed when 2 beds were requested. The payments are processed over the same portal, and somehow they lost the 2nd and final payment. I had to call and after several attempts, someone finally picked up and had to search on her end to find the payment and document this on the guest portal so it would balance and show paid in full. A month before the trip, I called to confirm the details (2 adjoining rooms, 1 room with 2 beds for children), they confirmed this was requested to the hotel and it was noted on the email they provided with the details. Well what you get from them is not what is communicated to the hotel. Unfortunately, we didn’t find out until check in that the request was never noted. The kids room was not even on the same floor! Of course, calling Sunwing directly to see if they can help, was a dead end. I was greeted with a recording saying to leave a message or call back during business hours!! After over an hour at the hotel lobby, we were finally able to secure 2 rooms on the same floor but not very close to each other! I’m so thankful we didn’t book the flight tickets through them. I wouldn't even give 1 start but that is the only option. It was an overall TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, we will never use Sunwing again!

Everyone please do yourselves a favour and avoid this nightmare, I did my wedding with them and everything that they did was horrible, the agent in charge of my wedding was horrible to deal with, no one could get a hold In a timely manner, they hated talking over the phone and always had automated emails, not to mention how many times you’d get a out of office vacation email at the most crucial times. Names were input incorrectly, and the list goes on and on literally of how bad a job they did. This service is suppose to make it easier and smooth for the couple but it’s the furthest thing from that, stress beyond belief and a literal nightmare. We had a group of close to 90 and the amount of people that came to us complaining of how bad the service was and how they couldn’t reach who they needed to speak to in a timely manner is appalling. If you wanna automate everything and not talk to anyone hire some bots. They charged me for premium liquor and gave me no name brands, they told me to put chandelier lights and misrepresented it with pictures that looked nothing like what was in my tent, they were the farthest thing from elegant with very ugly flood lights in the corners, they put my uncle from Italy in a room with My friend who didn’t know each other even though they both booked single occupancy, they charged my mother extra $200usd so my uncle could impede her and my dads privacy on my wedding to sleep on a pull out with no sheets because obviously he’s not staying in the the room with the random friend especially when he paid for his own room. After 6 months they refunded the 200 and simply said sorry like that is normal practise for this situation, like they didn’t totally mess plans up and ruin things, was very embarrassing for us as a couple having my uncle from Italy sleep on a pull out with no sheets and take away from my parents privacy on our wedding week. I’m more than happy to explain in more detail how bad of a experience it was as there is way more to this nightmare than can fit in one write up, and still this is ongoing as customer service is non existent, they just pon off problems to different departments take forever to answer(months for a reply) and they just love to say sorry without actually doing anything about the issues. AVOID AT ALL COSTS, or be prepared for disappointment after disappointment. I’ve also been waiting over 3 months to receive a voucher credit for cancelation insurance so if you think that has you covered, think again. The voucher will probably expire by the time anyone does their job properly or gets back to you. This company likes to play with peoples money, very prompt and on it when you wanna initially book or pay them but once they have your money, good luck.
