History

This property was originally settled in 1832 by William Stevenson and his wife, Elizabeth Pringle. They immigrated from Edinburgh, Scotland before settling in Canada. Originally, they built a log home, which was later replaced by a 12-room building in 1850. Their grandson, Theodore Loblaw, refurbished this house in 1927, turning it into a summer haven. It also featured three sun porches, a billiard room and banquet halls. The farmland was eventually sold, but the grand old house and a large part of the property is still in the possession of William Stevenson’s 6th generation family descendent,.

Sue and Stephan Milne, and their daughters Molly and Shannon are the current 6th and 7th generation family owners. Sue and Stephan purchased the property in 2003. They lovingly restored the property to its former glorious state and have added an 1100 sq. ft. full service, organic spa complere with couples massage room. The property is open for overnight guests, weddings and events of all kinds, and provides exquisite spa services in a relaxing and memorable environment.

Absolutely Amazing Venue!

Stevenson Farms was the perfect venue for our wedding which was on October 1, 2022. The bed and breakfast is truly breathtaking, with beautiful wheat fields, lush greenery, and a charming rustic feel. The staff are amazing and so accommodating throughout the weekend and everything leading up to our big day. They were extremely helpful with all of our planning and setup, and made sure that everything went off without a hitch! Even when we were having difficulties with the rental company, Steve jumped in and was super helpful to make sure that we had everything we needed and no point was overlooked.

The ceremony site was especially beautiful, with a picturesque gazebo and the house itself was magical as a backdrop with the gardening and lights. Our guests were in awe of the natural beauty of the venue, and many commented on how it was the perfect setting for our wedding.

The reception area was also fantastic, with plenty of space for our guests to mingle and dance. The staff helped us set up the tables inside and out, and made sure that everything was decorated to our liking which just shows how much they care.

Overall, Stevenson Farms was the perfect choice for our wedding. The staff were amazing and really made us feel like they were just as invested as we were! We would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a unique and stunning location for their special day !

The biggest hidden gem in simcoe county

My husband and I do not have enough positive words to say about Stevenson farms! Steven and sue the owners of the venue are AMAZING people and made our wedding day what it was. Them and their staff are very easy going and we’re able to make sure that everything we wanted for our day happened. If you are getting married I would 100% recommend getting married here not only to be in one of the most historical venues with gorgeous views but also to have a team behind you that makes you feel like family.

Thank you Steve, Sue and your staff for our beautiful day !

Our perfect day, made possible by Stevenson Farms

I have all the respect and gratitude for Stevenson Farms and how they helped us pull off our perfect day! From the very start Stephen and Susanne were flexible, professional and simply lovely people to work with. We booked the entire property for a whole weekend, and the team was nothing shy of amazing! Every detail was accounted for. I cannot give them high enough praise. If you are considering Stevenson Farms for your wedding day, I would urge you to lock down your date - it won't be long until this venue blows beyond it's "hidden gem" status.

Stevenson inn and spa

We had an amazing wedding day. We got the place for weekend. It was perfect since there is 9 rooms where you can have guests stay the night after the ceremony. We had so much fun, and the place truly had its own character no need to decorate. We would highly recommend holding an event there everyone is super nice, and very caring. Our event went very well, and the spa there is also amazing. All the ladies from my family enjoyed their mani- pedis.

Stevenson helped make magic happen!

My husband and I decided to reserve Stevenson for our wedding. We reserved the entire venue for the weekend (less 1 room on the Friday night) and took our immediate family (including our children) and our wedding party up with us.
It was the most magical weekend we could have asked for. Stevenson was very accommodating of our requests, some of which required creativity and extra effort to accommodate our 60 person wedding.
The front room (can’t remember the name) was very comfortable for my husband and I and we also got 8 women ready in that room in the wedding day, including hair and makeup.
The breakfasts served on Saturday and Sunday were AH-MAZING. Fires always lit in the pit in the evenings which offered options for our guests to dance or sit by the campfire.
The kids loved running free on the property and it was nice for a change knowing they could explore and it was safe for them to do so unattended for a while. They were also accompanied by a cute little pup who looovveessss people!
We were a little worried about whether people not staying there would be able to get cabs or ubers back to their hotels but it turned out not to be an issue at all.
Everyone enjoyed their time at Stevenson and we truly look forward to returning in the future.
Thank you Sue, Steve and Julie!!!
