Facilities and capacity

With a ballroom stretching to 5,400 square feet, this spacious venue if perfect for mid-size to large weddings. The area can accommodate between 24 and 400 guests. If it is a smaller space you are looking for, The Linden room can seat up to 40 guests.

Services offered

Wedding 2018

I had my wedding reception at the GCCA. They were above accommodating and very helpful and open to wedding needs. Sherry went above and beyond & was always so lovely to deal with.
The food was exceptional & my guests couldn't stop talking about the meal. Their complaint was THAT THE PLATES WERE TOO SMALL! The price was reasonable and the options were endless.
The banquet hall is very European with beautiful wood accents. Very simple and pretty. Nothing extremely elegant, but that wasn't what I was looking for.
They have a little set up of a german cabin in the woods and yes there are two spruce trees. No it does not look like Christmas and people don't even notice it. Honestly, if that ruins your guests experience, than I'm not sure why they are even at your reception to begin with.
My husband and I were extremely pleased with our overall experience with GCCA and do highly reccomend them!

We had this picked from the beginning . The manager we first dealt with was great . He was flexible and helped make our decisions easy. He told us we would have access to decorate the Tuesday before our Saturday wedding , which was a huge reason we picked the venue to begin with . Well flash forward two weeks before my wedding , we find out that manager is no longer there. No biggie . Well forward another week , a WEEK before my wedding , and we are now told that we won't have access until Friday night AT 5PM! We managed to get the new manager to let us in At 12 noon Friday , but I was very disappointed in the change and it added a ton of stress on an already stressful week. The food was great though, 10/10 on that.

Experience great from start to finish!

We held a smaller post wedding reception at the German Club, Edmonton in November, 2018. Tim at the club was very helpful from start to finish and was there to answer our questions and accommodate our needs. The buffet dinner was excellent. Many of our guests commented on how good the food was. The cost of the dinner and open bar were very reasonable. Alexandra, from Heavenly Designs, created a beautiful setting reminiscent of the destination wedding. Absolutely everything was set up by Friday noon the day before the reception and we were able to come in Friday evening to look after last minute details.

Wedding reception Oct 6, 2018

We had my daughters wedding reception at the German Cultural Centre Oct 2018. The entire process was easy. Sherry was excellent and our expectations were met. Food was AMAZING. We had an open bar and I loved that the bartender “cut off” the intoxicated guests. Also the bartender served one drink per person after 9 pm...doing this saved us money. The bartender was very responsible and I so appreciated that. They have a europeon setting over the bar, which consists of a house and trees( Xmas spruce tree) I read in earlier review that others thought the European setting to be “ too Christmas”, but being of Austrian decent I found it be a very cultural setting. We asked that they do not put the lights on the setting, so it wouldn’t disturb anyone. Honestly I didn’t even notice it while the reception was on. Too many people to visit with. I would highly recommend the German Cultural Centre for a wedding reception.

Addley Wedding

This was a great venue to host a intimate gathering, with plenty of space for your guests and entertainment. The staff was fantastic and very helpful. They really made us feel like they wanted perfect day for us also and great food!

Having our reception at the German Cultural center was very affordable. I really liked the big, open room we got, and I loved that the table cloths and napkins were included in the cost. The only thing I didn't like was that all of their Christmas trees and Christmas decorations were still out and our wedding was in April so that looked a bit tacky on our wedding day.
